4 note jazz licks are probably one of the most important tools for your jazz solos.
The 4-note jazz licks fit perfectly into the most common 4/4 bar.
In this video I explain 5 four note licks and make these usable in multiple situations.

Great Jazz sound – minor over dominant

3 great minor sounds to play on dominant chords
Adding vocabulary to your playing is very important.
The more ways you are able to get around in the changes of a tune, the more flexible you are in your playing, the more options you have the easier it is to make the best choice in your music.
You want to be able to move freely around, you want to react to what the piano player throws at you when playing, you want to move outside the key and surprise your fellow musicians and the audience with a sudden hip move. 
Getting more options in how to play and improvise on dominant chords is a massive addon to your flexibility.

How to connect your technique to your playing
Getting inspired by my technique, yes it is fun to be able to execute. I need more technique, yes of course, but not for the sake of the technique.
Do it for the sake of music!
I believe the goal with technique exercise is to practice great applicable material which is fitting directly into melodies and solos which you will be playing.
And not to practice material we will not use on a daily basis.
